According to the planned activities in the project E-MOTIONS in the programme Erasmus+, the teachers of Gimnazjum in Halinów, Poland took part in the workshops with an expert on 15th and 16th December, 2016. It was the first of two sessions. The teachers were divided into two groups. During the training we were talking about emotions - How To Understand and Identify them. During the session we divided emotions into positive and negative connected with different situations. Describing the emotions we came back to different situations from our childhood to give the examples.
Being able to identify your emotions is thought to be a key aspect of emotion regulation. The lack of ability to identify emotions can have significant consequences on social interactions and relationships.
Why is it important to be able to identify emotions? Emotions are very important to our daily functioning because they help guide our decisions, help us connect with other people and keep us out of harm’s way.
Being teachers we can help students to develop emotional skills and empower them to identify emotions appropriately. This can have a significant impact in how they communicate with others.
Next month we’ll take part in the second part of the workshops how to release the emotions.
This one was very interesting and will be very helpful in our work.
